Days 1-4

Food Days 1 - 3.... I had whatever I knew I would miss the most for 6 weeks leading up to the first day of the VLCD (very low calorie diet) phase. Pizza, chicken enchiladas from my favorite mexican restuarant, a large Tan-Iced Mocha with toasted marshmellow flavoring, cheese sticks...oh man so many delicious things. But in the days leading up to the start of phase 2 I found myself refelcting more and more on how those food items made me feel...it wasn't good. They made me feel bloated, acidy and just plain icky. I all honesty I was craving the foods I knew I would eating once I started the VLCD phase. I wanted chicken and broccoli and cabbage. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. All the healthy foods were what were really calling to me. I knew that I was ready for this diet. I needed to do it and I wanted to do it. I flat out just want to feel better and this is the best way for me to get there.

Day 4 - Start of the VLCD. I made myself chicken with lemon juice and season salt and celery salt. I boiled it in a pan until it was ready and this was accompanied by my alloted amount of asparagus. It turned out soooo good! I had eaten a very very small grapefruit before this with a little bit of stevia just before this because I was hungry while it was cooking. For dinner I had cinnamon chicken with boiled cabbage and my apple. It felt good to eat well!

Day 5- Which is today....I had some chicken in broth that I had made yesterday. I made one extra to have if I was hungry and didn't have time to cook but I am thinking I will go home and make this White Chicken Chili recipe I found. It sounds so good.

This diet so far has been great because I am also finding that I am a decent cook! It is a wonderful new skill :)

Up to now I haven't had any of the alloted breads allowed. No melba toast or grissini...I haven't wanted any. I am thinking I will use these more as breadings or for seasonings. All of the resipes that are available online are making this easier already because there are a lot of them that sound so delicious I can't decide which to make! I don't feel hungry....I do feel tired though. It seems like I want to eat but I am not hungry if that makes sense...maybe just because I am bored. I don't know. I think my biggest test will be this weekend when I am not working and have 24 whole hours to myself...I may spend the weekend cooking meals to have for the following week...we shall see!
